Overview

Consultation on the Revenue and Financing Policy and Rates Remission and Postponement has now closed, with a total of 5 submissions received. It was open from 13 April to 15 May 2015.

Council used a different process to hear submissions. Engagement sessions were offered where the submitters had the opportunitity to talk to the Mayor and councillors, and provide feedback. These replaced the hearings format we have used in the past.

The Revenue and Financing Policy sets out how the Council funds each activity it is involved in.  It is supported by detailed activity funding analysis, which is included in the documents below (Funding Needs Analysis).

The Rates Remission and Postponement Policy allows Council to apply rates reductions or postpone the payment of rates in some circumstances.
