We’ve developed a draft plan to help manage primarily stormwater, water supplies, and wastewater in the Waitawhiriwhiri area to enable growth while protecting the environment. It’s called an integrated catchment management plan (ICMP).

An ICMP helps us make better decisions about how land is used, how we look after the water resources we have, and what infrastructure is needed to manage stormwater such as wetlands or raingardens.

ICMPs are being developed for all 16 hydrological catchments in Hamilton, as required by the Comprehensive Stormwater Discharge Consent from Waikato Regional Council.

As the draft Waitawhiriwhiri ICMP is a substantial document, we have created a key points document that summarises the proposed approach and accompanies this consultation.

We want your feedback on the draft ICMP to help inform the final document.
