Consultation outcome

Project page updated April 2025

Background

In November 2024 we asked for feedback from the local communities about what they would like to see at the refreshed at Cullimore Park, Gower Park and Te Toetoe Reserve playgrounds to help inform the designs of the playground within our renewal guidelines.

These projects at Cullimore Park playground, Gower Park playground and Te Toetoe Reserve playground are part of our ongoing playground renewals programme. The programme aims to ensure we look after the play spaces we have, so they will be in a good condition for the community to enjoy for years to come.

What we heard from the community

During the engagement from 5 – 26 November 2024, we received:

This table below shows the most popular play options selected by the community. For more information please refer to the Submission Insights reports below.

Decision made

The feedback is being used to help inform the designs for our refreshed playgrounds. The timeline for the construction of the playground are as follows:

Cullimore Park playground - Construction to begin in March 2025 and be completed in June 2025.

Gower Park playground - Construction to begin in June 2025 and be completed in August 2025.

Te Toetoe Reserve playground - Construction to begin in July 2025 and be completed in September 2025.

We asked

We’re refreshing three neighbourhood park playgrounds and want to know what you’d like to see in these spaces.

We’re interested in the views of the local community who use these parks and want to make sure their voice is factored into the design of the playground within our renewal guidelines.

We’re interested in hearing from those who use Cullimore Park playground (Pukete), Gower Park playground (Melville) and Te Toetoe Reserve playground (Huntington) so we can ensure your thoughts are considered in the design of the playground within our renewal guidelines.

We know the community cares about playgrounds as much as we do – so we hope you will share your ideas about how we can refresh this space and make it even more special.

Tell us what you think!

Thanks for your interest. The opportunity to give feedback has now closed.
