West Town Belt Masterplan – Phase 1 Stakeholder Engagement

Closed 3 Sep 2018

Opened 25 Aug 2018

Overview

Hamilton City Council is preparing a masterplan for the West Town Belt.

The West Town Belt is an extensive tract of open space along the edge of the central city, connecting the Hamilton Lake Domain to the Waikato River. The masterplan will provide a long-term, spatial plan to help guide decision making, inform project delivery and ensure the West Town Belt meets the needs of the community.

We are currently researching the town belt to understand how the space currently works, what its history is and what its future could be.  At this initial stage, the Council is keen to hear from regular park users and/or nearby residents to understand how you use it, the potential reasons for not using it, and your future aspirations for this important open space.

Your feedback will feed into the development of the masterplan. You’ll also have another opportunity to provide feedback on the draft masterplan during the wider public consultation later in the year.

This survey will take approximately five minutes. It will be open from 25 August to 3 September.

Please note:
Please be aware when providing a submission all responses are part of the consultation process. This means your name and submission, but not your contact details may be reproduced and included in the Council's public documents such as the Council agendas and minutes. These documents are available on the Council's website at hamilton.govt.nz
