Alcohol Control Bylaw 2015

Closed 7 Sep 2015

Opened 5 Aug 2015

Consultation on the Local Alcohol Bylaw 2015 has now closed.
Submissions were open from 5 August 2015 to 2 September 2015.

This bylaw controls where and when people can drink or have alcohol in their possession in public places.  Currently there are 24/7 bans in the Central City and Te Rapa areas. A further 10pm - 6am ban applies citywide.  The Council has reviewed the Public Places Liquor Control Bylaw 2009 and has identified that the bylaw works well but the language used needs updating to make the bylaw easier to read.

A total of 13 submissions were received, with two submitters requesting to speak at the hearing.  To read the submissions, please click here.
