Consultation on the Dog Control Bylaw and Policy 2015 has now closed. Submissions were open from 4 March 2015 to 7 April 2015.
The Hamilton Dog Control Policy and Bylaw encourages responsible dog ownership and sets outs the council’s approach to dealing with dog issues in the city. The policy and bylaw also identifies where dogs are allowed to exercise off leash in the city.
We’ve recently reviewed the policy and bylaw and are proposing some minor changes that will clarify dogs owners’ responsibilities, help us deal with dogs that repeatedly roam and allow us to increase the number of parks where dogs can be exercised off leash.
